As funders, our commitment to boldly support community power and self-determination requires collective action. As part of our 2025 programming, Funders for a Just Economy will launch bi-monthly Community Calls to build a collaborative space where funders can reimagine what’s possible for philanthropy and their work. These bi-monthly, 60-minute virtual sessions provide funders with a peer to peer space to strategize, learn, and connect. Together, we’ll strengthen our collective ability to move more resources toward community and worker power organizing, advancing economic justice and deepening our impact.
We welcome all funders who are currently supporting or interested in supporting economic justice and worker power. Whether you're actively involved in this work or just beginning to explore how to contribute, these calls offer a valuable opportunity to connect, exchange ideas, and grow together.
These informal and interactive sessions offer funders the chance to:
- Share strategies and tools: Learn how to navigate institutional obstacles to funding worker power organizing and strengthen our collective impact.
- Explore the landscape of economic justice and worker organizing: Understand the current challenges, barriers, and opportunities for building lasting community power and resilient organizing infrastructures.
- Connect with like-minded funders: Engage with other committed funders who are committed to liberation and change, and feel supported in your efforts.
- Build funder organizing skills: Discover ways to shift philanthropic culture, improve grantmaking strategies, and move more resources toward transformative work.
- Collaborate across geographies and institutions: Discuss potential shared strategies for advancing economic justice across contexts.
