Join us Monday, July 14 in Nashville, TN for a dedicated Network Strategy Session bringing together funders who are ready to move from curiosity to commitment in resourcing rural organizing.
This Pre-Convening Summit at the NFG National Convening is more than a pre-convening warm-up, it’s a space for skill building and activation. We’ll open with a mini teach-in grounded in our Roots Revealed Report, sharing stories of how rural communities are blocking extractive forces and building lasting power. From there, we’ll turn inward, asking:
- Where are the breakdowns between what we say we fund and what’s really resourced at the hyperlocal level?
- What’s being revealed in our own institutions about risk, grief, and the limits of current strategies?
- How do we build the infrastructure—relationships, intermediaries, and trust—that allows rural communities to define and win on their own terms?
We’ll also preview IRSG’s NFG Convening session, which will spotlight rural organizing in Tennessee, Louisiana, and New York to challenge dominant frames of “statewide success.” This strategy session is a chance to prepare together, align around shared questions, and deepen the kind of funder organizing our movements need now.
Note: This session is open to all funders attending the NFG Convening and will include lunch. There is no additional cost, but registration is required. A short pre-event survey will be sent out to registrations to help shape small group discussions.
