Lauren Bennett
she/her
Senior Director of Communications and Membership
Lauren Bennett serves as Neighborhood Funders Group’s Senior Director of Communications and Membership. In her role, Lauren is responsible for strategic communications and membership engagement efforts. She shapes, manages, and drives the implementation of a coordinated communications strategy to inspire NFG’s members and the broader philanthropic community in support of community power building for racial, gender, economic, and climate justice. Lauren also leads membership engagement by supporting members in connecting with NGF’s core areas of work: political education, peer organizing, and strategic collaboration.
Prior to joining NFG, Lauren spent nearly 11 years at Funders Together for Housing Justice, most recently as its Chief of External Affairs, where she played a central role in positioning philanthropy as an active partner in systems change—mobilizing funders to engage in federal, state, and local policy advocacy that advances housing abundance, thriving communities, and people power.
You can often find Lauren reading (give her your latest suggestion!), organizing locally in her community around democracy and immigrant rights, walking in nature as her form of meditation, or at the beach with her family soaking up the beauty of the ocean.
