NFG’s Funders for a Just Economy has invited back guests from the U. S. Department of Labor to share current and upcoming Federal grant opportunities for community groups and partners. During the briefing, USDOL staff will focus on grants supporting workforce development, training and apprenticeships, and unemployment insurance (including newly-announced community navigator grants as well as equity data partnerships). Many of these grants will be delivered to key stakeholders through state and local agencies.

In addition to hearing from USDOL, Rachel Korberg, Tyonka Perkins Rimawi, and Jenny Weissbourd of the Families and Workers Fund, will share how the Fund seeks to improve workforce development opportunities, job quality, civic tech, and delivery of public benefits, like unemployment insurance, to make them more accessible and equitable. The Fund’s grantmaking aims to complement public investment in these issue areas.

Join us on Monday, March 14th from 12-1pm ET for this important conversation. We hope this event will help funders generate more awareness about upcoming Federal grants to potential applicants and think through how their current grantmaking might complement these public investments in future.
