Join us for a virtual funder briefing on Tuesday, October 10th to learn more about a collaborative project to bring community based organizations, funders, and federal agencies together to coordinate the equitable implementation of federal infrastructure funding.
The American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), and Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), in addition to Biden-Harris Administration actions on advancing racial equity and addressing the climate change crisis through executive order, represent a major catalytic, transformational, and generational opportunity. In this unique and opportune moment to inform and impact policy, practice, and resource investment for equitable outcomes, the Health and Environmental Funders Network (HEFN), the Integrated Rural Strategies Group (IRSG) at Neighborhood Funders Group (NFG), and The Funders Network (TFN) are proud to participate and partner with the Communities First Fund (CFF) on a series of multi-stakeholder regional convenings to support the coordination and equitable implementation of federal infrastructure funding.
Please note that this briefing is intended for staff of foundations and philanthropy serving organizations only.
This briefing will include:
- Welcoming remarks and context setting from NFG, HEFN, and TFN;
- Overview of this moment by Communities First Fund; and
- Discussion on how funders can engage in the regional convenings and beyond.
In addition to sharing about this opportunity, we also hope to hear from you. In preparation for the briefing, please consider the following questions:
- Has your foundation made investments specifically related to the implementation of federal funding (ARPA, IIJA, IRA in 2022 and/or 2023?
- If not, why? E.g., lack of understanding of roles for philanthropy to play? Lack of clarity around specific federal funding opportunities?
- Is your organization primarily providing support for capacity building or equitable implementation at the regional, state, or local level?
- Do you have grantees that may benefit from participating in a regional convening? If so, what issues, priorities and/or areas of public policy are they addressing?
Please contact IRSG Program Director Lindsay Ryder (lindsay@nfg.org) with any questions. We look forward to sharing more and hearing from you on October 10.
