Hold philanthropy accountable to ensuring that Black, Indigenous, and people of color communities can continue to organize, build power, and transform our lives, as well as dismantling white supremacy and patriarchal norms in this sector
Organize philanthropy to make use of both grantmaking dollars and institutional influence through NFG’s member-led programs: Democratizing Development Program, Funders for a Just Economy, Integrated Rural Strategies Group, Philanthropy Forward, Midwest Organizing Infrastructure Project, and our grantmaking fund — Amplify Fund
Move more philanthropic dollars to local organizing and local power building led by Black, Indigenous, and people of color communities, low-income communities and workers, rural communities, LGBTQIA and gender non-conforming people, women, and immigrants
Resource efforts to ensure the safety, protection, and resilience of movement leaders with philanthropic support

Membership Eligibility:
- Organizations whose primary activity is grantmaking.
- Organizations that move money to racial, economic, gender, and climate justice movements across the U.S.
NFG's members center people and communities, hold values of liberation and justice, strive to deepen their analysis and learn from others, and seek to mobilize resources with greater alignment and strategy for deeper impact.
Note that NFG membership is at the institutional level. Any number of individuals within the institution receive membership benefits.
Membership Dues:
Membership dues provide important unrestricted funding to support NFG’s work. Suggested annual membership fees are listed here, based on your foundation’s annual grantmaking budget (excluding donor advised funds).
We invite you to choose the membership rate that feels appropriate for your grantmaking organization, even if it does not correlate with the suggestions here.

NFG’s membership is composed of over 140 grantmaking organizations that co-conspire to accelerate racial, gender, economic, disability, and climate justice.
NFG members are as diverse as the communities they serve. They work in every part of the nation, in both urban and rural settings. Our members include private foundations, community foundations, family foundations, corporate foundations and giving programs, religious giving programs, public foundations, and other grantmaking institutions.
Our members work at a national or local scale — and anywhere in between. They come to NFG to build relationships, strategize, and partner with like-minded funders across the country.
